Beginning Copper Foil Stained Glass With Gerry, a 6 Session Course - $ 200.00
Start your stained glass journey with Gerry's beginner-friendly copper foil stained glass course! Each session in this course is 2 hours, but might skip a week due to conflicts, so check course dates.  This class is perfect for new students who want to learn the fundamentals of copper foil window construction. Choose from instructor-provided patterns and create your own copper foil stained glass window, ready for display. Master the copper foil approach from pattern selection to finished product. Please note: Students will need to purchase their glass and tools for this class. A list of required tools will be provided. Bring your creative vision to life with Gerry's expert guidance. Beginning Copper Foil Stained Glass with Gerry

Class includes: Patterns

Please bring: tools, work board and solder (these will be available for purchase during your first session). 

Agenda

 

Week 1: Safety, Patterns, Pattern prep, cutting, tools, copper foil tape, Practice scoring and cutting glass

Week 2: Cutting out the pattern, Pattern placement, cutting glass for pattern, placing and fitting glass on cartoon, workshop time

Week 3: Glass cutting, placing, framing, and applying copper foil, workshop time

Week 4: Glass cutting, fitting, applying copper foil, workshop time

Week 5: Final fitting, framing and soldering, workshop time

Week 6: Finish framing, add hangers, clean panel and patina to finish

Packing / shopping list (available through www.SWArtGlass.com or in the store before class)

·       Pattern (choose from instructor choices)

·       Glass

·       Glass cutter (instructor will help you pick one out if you've never cut glass)

·       Grozing pliers

·       Running pliers

·       Masking tape

·       Fid

·       Sharpie Marker – black and silver

·       Scissors or pattern shears

·       Cutting Surface (will be provided for class)

·       Work board (available to buy from instructor or you can build one that is 24 x 24 x ¾ pressboard with 90 degree angle in corner)

·       Soldering iron & iron holder with sponge

·       50/50 solder

·       Stained glass soldering flux

·       Flux brush

·       Stained glass nails

·        xacto knife

·       Small hammer

·       Patina for stained glass

·       Newspapers for last class

·       Container for tools

 Nice to Have: Needle nose pliers, double face tape or glue stick, wire cutters, small dust pan and brush, grinder, tip cleaner for soldering iron
