Beginning Copper Foil Stained Glass with Gerry

Class Length: 5 sessions (one per week), 3 hours per session

Capacity: 8 students maximum

Class includes: Patterns

Please bring: tools, work board and solder (these will be available for purchase during your first session). 

Agenda 

•             Week 1: Patterns, cutting, tools, safety, copper, patina

•             Week 2: Pattern placement, cutting glass for pattern, placing glass on cartoon, workshop time

•             Week 3: Glass cutting, placing, framing, wrap glass with copper, fitting pieces, workshop time

•             Week 4: Final fitting and soldering, workshop time

•             Week 5: Clean panel (after patina as desired) to finish, workshop time

o   Glass

o   Copper foil (instructor will help you pick one out if you've never used copper foil)

o   Glass cutter (instructor will help you pick one out if you've never cut glass)

o   Grozing pliers

o   Running pliers

o   Work board (24 x 24 x ¾ plywood)

o   Solder iron & iron holder

o   50/50 solder

o   Masking tape

o   Stained glass soldering flux

o   Flux brush

o   Fid

o   Liva stained glass polish
