Thank You.

SW Art Glass is excited to present Richard Parrish's Bas Relief workshop, where you'll explore the rich possibilities of kilnformed glass in shallow space. Learn to create complex forms, shapes, and textures using simple materials like fiber paper and glass powder. Discover how subtle changes in surface levels and the interplay of light and shadow can bring your compositions to life. Master cold working techniques to finish your pieces for stunning display.

In this workshop, you will:

  • Work with ceramic fiber materials, sheet glass, frit, and powder to create individually conceived bas relief projects.
  • Participate in exercises to identify your artistic interests and develop ideas for a final piece.
  • Gain insights into the history and cultural significance of bas relief, a technique found in art and architecture across millennia.
  • Learn to create intricate surface relief, texture, and color interactions in glass.
For more information on the daily agenda, see details found at the bottom of this page.

Note: Cancellations accepted with full refund if 4 weeks prior to class start. Refunds for cancellations with less than 4 weeks notice will depend on finding someone to fill your seat - if we find someone to take your seat, you will receive a refund, if not, you probably won't.

Visit http://www.fusiostudio.com/mapping and https://www.fusiostudio.com/perspectives for examples of Richard's work in this style.
