Dive into the world of vitrigraph with Rob Traylor in this immersive 4-hour workshop. Make cane and stringers, learn techniques for setting up your vitrigraph for murrini and thicker glass cane production.
Pull your own stringers/cane and learn how to prepare pots for stunning results. This workshop is suitable for beginners, intermediate, and advanced fusers alike. All glass is provided and participants will share the stringers pulled. If you bring a group, request the specific COE of glass be used (usually use COE 96).
Bring safety glasses and leather gloves, wear closed-toe shoes, long sleeves, and long pants for a safe experience.
Email to: [email protected] if you use COE 90 glass so the instructor can set up at least one vitrigraph with it.
Rob Traylor is one of our in house instructors at SW Art Glass. Rob started his glass adventure in 1995 under the guidance of Gil Reynolds where he was gaining experience in lampworking, glass Fusing, and glass blowing.
After that, Rob was able to learn from Patty Gray at Hot Glass Horizons, and has helped design/build several glass shops including the facilities at Mesa Center for the Arts.
In addition to regularly teaching here at SW Art Glass, Rob has enjoyed teaching at the Glass and Bead Expo in Las Vegas and Circle 6 Studios, as well as supporting many of the local and visiting glass blowers in the Phoenix area.
