9:00am - 5:00pm on days noted

March 6 - 7, 2026: Alluring Spaces - Landscape Paintings in Fused Glass - $450

In this 2-day painting technique class, Scandia will share how she creates her style of glass paintings, including the detail layering techniques found through trial and error to consistently and more reliably offer the best end-results. Scandia will cover the importance of choosing your base glass, designing your paintings to work well in a desired display space, and conveying mood and depth through light and color, so that over 2-3 firings, you can develop a dramatic finished painting.

You will have the chance to choose from a selection of landscape photos and selected sheet glasses for your background. In addition to creating your larger primary painting, you will also make a smaller piece from a supplied image using the same general technique, with recommended adjustments. The second project teaches some valuable lessons as to why adjusting and applying the same materials in a slightly different way enables you to create equally successful paintings using less visual information due to the smaller glass canvas.

It is helpful, but not required for you to have some basic understanding or appreciation of landscape painting and some familiarity with using different grades of frit for this class. Scandia will help all who want to learn to paint, regardless of their prior experience. Please bring your own tools, including your favorite set of glass cutting/running/breaking tools, a pair of nippers, liquid adhesive squeeze dispenser, and any frit application tools that you are most comfortable using.

March 8 - 9, 2026: Multi-Layered & Color Focused Fused Glass Floral Display Art - $450

This class offering is a creative two-day workshop in which you will create 2 rich, colorful floral display art pieces. Scandia will be covering several methods she uses to enhance floral elements including work-in-turns, shading, stacking specific glasses for extra visual pop, dimension and depth. We will start on your primary projects by building a thick floral display using colored glasses, hand pulled vitrograph stems and leaves, pre-slumped Oceanside Stringer stems, custom-made millefiori flowers and murrini, an assortment of frit and a SW Art Glass's confetti !

You will build your primary floral field project on a 10 inch x 10 inch 5mm clear. The course fee includes a 10 inch square stainless steel dam for use in your future projects. During the class you will Scandia demonstrate (accompanied by written explanations) a few different approaches on how you build on your floral display to add depth and light play, learning how to re-firing your piece to add depth or details. The 2nd workshop project will be a smaller floral design using a slightly different approach to bringing wow factor in your floral fused glass displays. Both projects will be fired through their first round, and depending on your progress a second round.

If this course sold out, no dates will be visible.
