Technical Information
This all fiber, clamshell, square kiln is quick to heat and the 16" interior area provides plenty of room for almost any project.
With a fiber kiln, the heat is absorbed by the glass and not the kiln, allowing for MUCH faster firings and faster cool downs. The ProFusion 16 can reach full fuse temperatures in about 1.5 hours. You can fire your glass as fast as it can take the heat! Full speed ahead for your smaller pieces. This allows a glass painter or a jewelry maker to potentially get a few firings a day.
This comes with the TAP controller which makes programming a breeze. The kiln plugs into the controller and the controller into the wall. Insert thermocopler into kiln to know the temperature.
Mechanical Relays, which come standard on most kilns have internal moving parts which over time wear out and need to be replaced. Kiln manufacturers recommend you replace your mechanical relays approximately every 2 years. Solid-state relays have no moving parts and last far longer than standard mechanical relays and offer far better temperature control during hold times. Since solid-state relays also have no moving parts to wear out, they NEVER need to be replaced. You will notice that solid-state relays are silent. The only sound you will hear is just the reassuring hum of the heating elements.
This kiln comes with 2" tall feet - designed for table top use.
Price Includes: Manual & 15" fiber shelf.

Great kiln!
Love this kiln! There are so many advantages: No kiln bricks to break apart and fall into your glass. No coils that need to be re-seated. Pretty light weight compared to brick kilns. About the largest kiln you can buy that uses a 110 outlet. The TAP controller is awesome; so easy to program or you can use the programs that come with the unit. And it cools more quickly than a brick kiln. I love having the extra shelf. It allows me to fire items on the kiln floor and also be building a new piece on the shelf so it will be ready to pop in. We have 6 kilns in our studio, but I am still happy to have this one at home!
