Discover the art of fused glass while creating a beautiful 6-inch dish that's uniquely yours! Starting with a clear glass base, you'll learn how to score and break glass, then use colorful glass pieces and glass enhancements to bring your design to life. If you pick the 12/4/26 class date, this will concentrate on holiday themed dishes (see images for more ideas).
This beginner-friendly workshop introduces the fundamentals of glass fusing and slumping. You'll explore a variety of tools, learn basic glass-cutting techniques, and discover how flat glass is transformed into a functional piece of art. We'll also cover mold types, firing schedules, and annealing so you can better understand the magic that happens inside the kiln.
With glass fusing is that there's no rush—you'll work with the glass while it's cold, giving you plenty of time to experiment, arrange, and perfect your design before it's fired. After class, your project will stay at the studio for kiln firing. Your completed fused glass dish will be ready for pickup in approximately two weeks.
Please wear closed-toe shoes for this class.
