For many years this was the only glass cutter that was used. The design still holds up today and is an economical alternative to newer cutter designs.

Many lamp artists prefer this cutter to others for repetitive pattern cutting. You can cut strips of glass about the size of the pieces you will cut. You then hold the pattern on the strip with one hand and cut along the outside edge of the pattern with the cutting wheel. The teeth above the cutting wheel can then be used to run the score and groze the edges of the piece. All the tools you need in one hand.
